The Leadership Academy for Middle Managers will be a five-day residential training experience, followed by online and teleconference peer networking,
LAMM Objectives
- Increase the effectiveness of child welfare agencies through culturally responsive middle manager training on leadership, workforce development and succession planning
- Provide middle managers with professional development that enables them to address persistent complex challenges requiring adaptive, distributive, and inclusive leadership
- Provide opportunities that facilitate continuous learning in support of both middle managers and their internal and external partners
- Offer managers the latest research and new directions for child welfare practice, leadership, and management, from academic, private, and nonprofit sectors
Target Audience
LAMM training will be offered to the following child welfare middle managers: State or Tribal, central office, regional, district and county child welfare administrators and assistant directors; managers employed at the State/central/regional offices that provide support to local child welfare offices; State and Tribal child welfare program managers; training managers; and program directors at private agencies that are contracted by the State to provide case management services that are traditionally provided by the public child welfare system.
LAMM Advisory Council
This Council meets quarterly via telephone or web conferencing to advise the LAMM team on marketing, curriculum content, and nominations and selections of participants.
