This is a great resource for other tribal communities or organizations who are interested in developing a curriculum for youth that improves cognitive-behavioral life skills. The Healing of the Canoe Project is a collaborative project between the Suquamish Tribe, the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe and the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute, University of Washington. Both tribes identified the prevention of youth substance abuse and the need for a sense of cultural belonging and cultural revitalization among youth as primary issues of community concern. This resource provides several trainings and and describes the phases of the intervention that was implemented in this tribal community.
