Effective Treatment for Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence
This webinar is hosted by NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals
It has long been recognized that abuse by an intimate partner increases a person’s risk for developing a range of health conditions, including substance use disorders (SUD). Research has found high rates of both past and current intimate partner violence (IPV) among people in SUD treatment settings. At the same time, survivors often face siloed services with little access to safety or stability in recovery. This workshop will offer an overview of the intersection between substance use disorders and victimization by an intimate partner, as well as best practices in safe and effective treatment for survivors.
