Gender equity: What can other countries teach us?
This webinar is hosted by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
Gender should never limit opportunities for health and well-being. Yet in the U.S., working moms of color are paid less for the same work, men who take paternity leave are often stigmatized, and gender non-conforming people continue to face discrimination in health care and other settings.
While our nation has made progress toward gender equity, other countries offer important insights as we work to accelerate change and close gender gaps. What can we learn from places like London, where the gender pay gap has been eliminated among the city’s workforce? Or from Freetown, Sierra Leone, where 50 percent of the city’s councilors are women?
