Great Expectations: A Look into Parents’ Expectations of the Journey
This webinar is hosted by Children’s Aid Society of Alabama
The process of preparing and supporting foster and adopted parents for the journey can be a rewarding and sometimes challenging practice. One of the reasons it can sometimes be challenging is working through the expectations prospective parents have of their chosen journey. Children in foster care also have a preconceived expectations of foster and adoptive parents. When these two worlds of expectations collide, it will take the patience of skilled professionals to help families and children live the reality of the journey of fostering and adoption. This training will assist in supporting families and children with understanding expectations.
