Magic Moments: Active Problem Solving with Young Children, by Ann Gadzikowski
Every problem, large or small, is an opportunity for young children to learn and grow. From spilled glue to a conflict in the block corner, problems are an unlimited natural resource generated inside our own classrooms. This insight-building webinar, presented by author and inspirational speaker, Ann Gadzikowski, will explore how early childhood educators can take the problems, mistakes, and accidents that inevitably occur in every early childhood program, and turn them into teachable moments.
We’ll also shine a light on what children learn along the way: the social skills, emotional intelligence, language and communication skills, and STEM concepts that children learn as they participate in an authentic, meaningful problem-solving process. This conversation will approach problem solving with an anti-bias lens, taking into account children’s (and our own) family and community contexts as essential influences on how we view and solve problems together.
