Part 1: Best Practices in Youth Peer Advocacy: Supervising for Success

This webinar is hosted by Community Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) and later the Managed Care Technical Assistant Center (MCTAC)

We will explore why devoting enough time and consistency to supervision leads to greater staff satisfaction and success, increasing retention and improving youth outcomes. Small break-out groups will provide opportunities to practice skills.

Part 1 will focus on addressing the stigma that can result when YPAs are not respected and treated as comparable professionals within their organization’s service teams and how to begin to integrate YPAs as equal partners. Also included will be the importance of teaching “professional” work habits and expectations, helping the YPA to deal with conflict resolution and how these factors can improve integration and acceptance.
