Understanding the Basics of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
This webinar is hosted by Community Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) and the Managed Care Technical Assistant Center (MCTAC)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental diagnoses in childhood. Challenges associated with ADHD include difficulty concentrating, controlling impulsive behavior, and overactivity. In addition, children with these experiences may have trouble organizing their thoughts, following instructions, taking turns and getting along with others. This webinar will serve as an introduction to the signs and symptoms of ADHD amongst children, as well as the connections between ADHD, trauma, and stress. Participants will learn how to assess these challenges, analyze the best practices for treatment, and leave with recommendations for working with youth and families.
