Your Journey to Entering the Recovery Coach Workforce

For people in recovery, giving back and personal growth are pathways to growing in their personal recovery. The emerging workplace of recovery coaching and credentials for peer specialists offers opportunity for building on lived experiencing, entering the workforce, or expanding competence in an existing professional field, for example as a substance use disorder counselor, social worker or supervisor. While options are many, how to achieve the knowledge, skills and ethics to becoming a recovery coach, a CPRS, or a supervisor is often murky. This workshop will provide an overview of training, supervision, intern experience, and qualified employers. Policy, personal examples, and how to craft your own journey will be discussed.
