 Workforce Development Month 2018

Celebrated Every September

Thank you to those who participated in 2018. If you missed our inspiring presentation on Worker Recognition Day, you can view the recording at any time.

We're already working on plans for September 2019 to ensure it is even bigger and better than the last two years. In the meantime, how will you continue to celebrate and support those who tackle the hard work of child welfare year around? Here are a few ideas:

Use our infographic to share the importance of the child welfare workforce and the high cost of turnover to those needing their support.

Share these 8 resources to support the workforce.

Regularly thank colleagues and/or employees for a job well done. Praise contributes to higher levels of engagement; improves morale, trust, and relationships; and decreases turnover (Gallup).

Get inspired by leaders in agencies & universities that took an innovative approach to improve the organizational culture, support the child welfare workforce, and achieve better outcomes for the families they serve. View the Real Stories Tool Kit and choose one or more relevant videos. Then bring together colleagues/staff, students, and/or community members to have a rich discussion about how to apply lessons learned at your agency.
