The Take the Lead Series supplements the Core LAS Curriculum with short, interactive modules to help you build skills and develop concrete strategies in topic areas of related interest.  The Take the Lead modules take one hour to complete, and are highly interactive. Four modules are currently available online (click the title or "take now" to access each module):

Recruitment Strategies: Finding qualified workers who are likely to stay is a major challenge in child welfare.  This module shares some specific strategies and examples from other states that can make your recruitment efforts more successful.

Screening Strategies: Once you have a pool to choose from, what tools are available to help you screen candidates for appropriateness to the job? This module provides competency-based strategies to help you choose the right candidate.

Cultural Humility Strategies: Supervisors have a key role to play in promoting cultural responsiveness and leveraging diversity.  This module offers concrete strategies to help promote recognition and valuing of cultural differences at the interpersonal and agency level.

Coaching Strategies: Coaching is a critical strategy in transfer of learning and implementation of change. This module offers supervisors the opportunity to improve their knowledge of coaching and the role of the supervisor in the coaching process. Interactive exercises are designed to increase knowledge and skills with specific coaching strategies.
