This virtual presentation, is sponsored by the Southeast ATTC Regional Center and will focus on a strength-based approach to engaging African Americans in substance use disorders treatment; rapport building with African American Clients within the first 10 minutes of contact; reasons African Americans resist substance use disorders treatment and intervention strategies; effective cross-cultural counseling skills with African Americans with substance use disorders; traditional and non-traditional approaches to recovery among African Americans; How to mobilize the entire African American Community to support recovery in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina. Treatment providers, peer support communities, and community-based organizations in Region 4 are encouraged to register for free.
